- What does a microneedling session with you look like (please describe)?
Just as with our acupuncture sessions, a new patient session will be 1.5 hrs to allow more time for the intake. Return visits will be one hour. All sessions will include body acupuncture along with the microneedling. The body acupuncture will focus on addressing any underlying imbalances in order to get the most out of microneedling. After the intake, numbing cream will be applied if the patient so chooses. Body points will then be added while the numbing has time to take effect. The microneedling itself usually takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Different serums in a vegan hyaluronic acid are used based on the individual. After the microneedling is complete the patient rests with a cooling aloe mask for about 10 minutes. Microneedling is done once a month for 4-6 months. The results can last for up to 3-5 years, especially if patients return once every 4-6 months for a treatment. - What are the benefits of microneedling? Microneedling is the process of inserting superfine needles into the skin to stimulate collagen production. Stimulating collagen production can brighten and improve skin texture and reduce wrinkles, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation. Microneedling can also support your body to replenish hair loss. Examples of conditions that benefit from the effects of microneedling include: acne, eye bags, hair loss, sagging skin around the eyes and jaw, melasma, dark spots, scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles.
- How can a microneedling session help to support folks during the transition time between seasons? Our skin will often struggle with dryness, acne, etc. when the seasons change because our bodies’ Qi cannot adjust smoothly and fails to align with the new season. This can happen for a number of reasons like, constitutional weakness, disharmony of the internal organs, stagnant Qi from too much stress, or simply burnout–Qi exhaustion. Scheduling microneedling during these transitional periods can help support our bodies to move through these changes.
