Fig is a board-certified acupuncturist and registered clinical herbalist specializing in both Western and Eastern herbal medicine, as well as Classical Five Element Acupuncture. She integrates healing traditions with evidence-based research to provide patient-centered care rooted in both traditional wisdom and modern science.
Fig earned her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the AOMA School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. She holds dual doctorates: from the Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and from the Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, where her doctoral research focused on Eastern Herbal Pharmacology and Functional Medicine.
Her postgraduate training includes Holistic TCM Dermatology under Mazin Al-Khafaji of Sussex, England, and Clinical Integration of Classical Five Element Acupuncture under Lonny Jarrett. These specialized studies inform her clinical approach to hormonal health and balance throughout perimenopause and menopause, as well as the treatment of complex dermatological conditions.
Fig has worked extensively with the V.A. to serve the veteran population, helping to ease conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), neurological disorders, and substance addiction.
Glad to be back in Knoxville, Fig is dedicated to serving her community through both clinical practice and education. She is the founder, director, and lead herbal educator of the Herb Ahava School of Holistic Herbalism. She resides on her herb farm with her husband and pet menagerie, where she continues to grow and study medicinal plants as part of her ongoing research and teaching.
