Massage Modalities

Deep tissue:

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that focuses on deeper layers of the muscles and connective tissue. It is helpful for chronic aches, pains, and muscle stiffness

Ashiatsu:

Ashiatsu ( Japanese for foot pressure) is a barefoot deep tissue massage technique in which the therapist delivers deep, broad, and consistent pressure by using their feet and body weight.

Hot Stone Massage:

Hot stone massage is used to ease tense muscles or damaged soft tissue throughout your body. As the name suggests, it incorporates hot, flat, and smooth stones in the massage, to add an extra layer of relaxation and muscle relief.

Raindrop Therapy:

Raindrop therapy is an incredibly relaxing massage modality that incorporates certain pure, stimulating antiviral and anti-inflammatory essential oils that are used on your feet and dropped along your spine. It is often paired with hot stone to further drive the oils into your nervous system.

Reflexology:

Also known as zone therapy, reflexology involves pressure on specific points on the hands and feet that represent the whole body.

Myofascial Release:

Myofascial release is a type of safe, low-load stretching that focuses on releasing muscular shortness or tightness. It is used without lotion or oil to effectively stretch the skin causing the tight fascia to release.

Sports Massage:

Sports massage is a type of massage that focuses on treating soft tissue aches, pains, and injuries that are associated with recreational activities, such as tennis elbow, shin splints, etc.

Prenatal Massage:

Prenatal massage is specifically for women who are pregnant and can no longer lay on their bellies. It is a great way for expecting mothers to find relaxation and pain relief. The therapist is specially trained in how to position you for support and comfort throughout the whole massage.

Cupping Therapy:

Cupping therapy involves the therapist putting special cups on your skin and creating a suction effect. It helps in reducing pain and inflammation, increasing blood flow, and relaxation. It is often paired with deep tissue massage or acupuncture. It can leave bruises, but they do not hurt and often go away within a few days.

Gua Sha:

Gua sha, also known as scraping therapy, typically involves an asian soup spoon, or specific scraping tools. Using a lot of oil or lotion, the therapist uses the tool to scrape the skin until sha (or redness) appears. It can be helpful for relieving pain and tension all over the body, and can be used to treat conditions such as carpal tunnel and plantar fasciitis.
