What is SAAT?
SAAT stands for Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment, developed by Dr. Nader Soliman, MD, a longtime pioneer in auricular (ear) acupuncture. It builds on decades of research into how specific points on the ear connect to the body’s nervous and immune systems.
Unlike conventional allergy care, which mostly focuses on suppressing or masking symptoms, SAAT takes aim at the response itself. The goal is to help your immune system re-calibrate so it stops treating a harmless allergen as a threat — offering the possibility of lasting relief rather than daily management.
How does SAAT work?
The ear functions like a map of the body. Precise points on it correspond to different systems, including those involved in the allergic response.
During a SAAT session, a tiny, hair-thin needle is placed at the exact point on the ear that corresponds to your specific allergen. That needle stays in place for a few weeks — worn discreetly and comfortably — gently prompting your body to adjust how it reacts to that trigger. Because the technique is so specific, each allergen is addressed individually.
The procedure is drug-free, minimally invasive, and most people find it comfortable and easy. There’s no downtime, and sessions take place in a calm, restorative setting.
What can SAAT help with?
SAAT can be used for a wide range of sensitivities, including:
- Seasonal and environmental allergies — pollen, ragweed, grasses, and other airborne triggers that make spring and fall miserable
- Pet allergies — so you can share your home with cats, dogs, and other animals without constant sneezing
- Food sensitivities — many of the everyday reactions that turn eating into a stressful guessing game
- Alpha-gal syndrome — the red-meat allergy often triggered by a tick bite, which can be especially difficult to manage with conventional care
What to expect at your appointment
Because SAAT is tailored to your specific allergens, the first step is a consultation. We’ll talk through your history, your triggers, and your goals so we can build the right plan for you. If you’ve already had allergy testing done elsewhere, bringing those results along can be helpful.
From there, treatment itself is quick and straightforward. You’ll wear the needle for a few weeks and return for any follow-up needed.
Why people choose SAAT
For anyone tired of planning life around their allergies, SAAT offers a refreshingly different path:
- Drug-free — no daily antihistamines or ongoing prescriptions
- Non-invasive — a single tiny needle, comfortably worn
- Targeted — each treatment addresses a specific allergen
- Focused on the long term — aimed at changing the response, not just masking it
